Our Church

God called our predecessors to form our church in 1847 in order to provide for the spiritual growth of its members, to provide an opportunity for others in the community to join in worship, and to support actions in the community appropriate to the church.  These basic tenets still reflect the activities of our church in the 21st century.

First Presbyterian Church supports each other as we proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and nurture the faith.  We strive to be welcoming, friendly and supportive of each other.  We support and encourage each other through our worship, study and fellowship opportunities.  We offer help and prayer to those within and beyond our congregation; this has deeply touched many lives and helped us to all grow during our faith journeys.  We are active in our community through the work of members who are active in many endeavors to improve the community for all.
